2015 is an exciting time for business to look beyond the current global economic challenges and prepare for a return to growth.

At National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB), we continue our commitment to the SME sector, which has been identified as a cornerstone to our nation’s growth path. The restaging of the NCB SME Conference in 2015 at a highly subsidised cost for our customers is a demonstration of our renewed and ongoing commitment. The 2015 SME conference is a follow up to the highly successful 2013 conference, which was attended by over 130 SMEs. From this pool of attendees, 80 participated in a two-day intensive boot-camp with renowned ActionCoach CEO Marcia Woon Choy and 20 were further selected to participate in an eight-month rigorous business training programme funded by NCB and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Each participant in this programme, which concluded in March 2015, has reported significant growth in their revenues and profits based on the tools, knowledge and network accessed. A select number of participants also went on to participate in the inaugural season of NCB’s Capital Quest and received significant publicity and additional growth for their businesses. The value of these investments made by NCB total over $100M not including special loan and equity funding pools we have set aside especially for the sector.

Small and medium enterprises who participate in this year’s conference will also have the same opportunities for additional capability building interventions funded by NCB over the course of the next two years.

NCB will continue to bolster this critical sector through special business and credit services, as well as training, guidance and special recognition. We want to help ensure that our SMEs are equipped to make the transition to the ‘big business’ category that expands beyond Jamaica’s borders and brings prosperity to our nation.

The NCB SME conference 2015 will feature hands-on workshops and interactive sessions to help you seize global opportunities, access financing and increase productivity and sales through technology and e-commerce and many more topics. The conference is also well poised to deliver an excellent forum where small businesses can network to make connections that will further enhance their businesses.

We are pleased to welcome our distinguished speakers who are pioneers in international and local business.

We also thank our partners, whose support has helped make our Conference a reality.

A special welcome also to our SME participants. We know you will find the conference and journey ahead of tremendous value for your business. Thanks for choosing NCB as your partner in taking your business to the next level.
