Mariame McIntosh Robinson

Mariame is a Partner at Portland Private Equity (PPE), a private equity fund that provides growth equity capital to companies in the Caribbean and Central America. Mariame joined PPE in 2009 and leads the Fund’s due diligence activities as well as portfolio monitoring activities for her closed deals (in the power, food processing, and hospitality real estate sectors). Prior to joining PPE, Mariame spent 8 years as a Strategy Consultant at McKinsey & Company, and Bain & Company. She was most recently a Manager in Bain’s New York office where she advised CEOs and their management teams on growth strategy and operations.

 

In addition, Mariame is the President of TEACH Caribbean, an educational NGO she founded with other Rhodes Scholars, focused on improving access to quality education for rural, economically disadvantaged youth. In this volunteer role, Mariame leads the fundraising and strategy for the organization. Mariame was selected by the World Economic Forum in 2014 to be a Young Global Leader. She also serves on two commercial bank Boards in Kingston, Jamaica.

 

Mariame has a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and an M. Phil. in Economics from Oxford University where she attended as the Jamaica Rhodes Scholar in 1998. Mariame is married with one son.
